To get Top 10 ranking in Google and other major Search Engines, first you need to know why Top 10 ranked Websites are ranked in Top 10 search results. This article will reveal some tips on how to find the tricks that your competitors are using in order to get high ranking. To do this, take a Keyword for which you want Top 10 ranking, find Top 10 ranked Websites for that Keyword in Google. Next, do the following things for each Website.

Keyword Authority and Link Popularity:

Unlike most people think, Google never gives the first priority to Keywords in Page Title and Page content. Besides this, your Website needs to show the ‘Keyword Authority’ for a particular Keyword to get higher ranking for that Keyword and Google determines this Authority by viewing the no. of inbound links to your Website. If more Websites with higher Page Rank (Generally, Page Rank of a Website called the importance that Google gives to it and you can view Page Rank by installing Google Toolbar in your browser) link to your Website, your Website surely ranks high in Google search results.

On Page Factors:

These are factors which can be easily seen on Page. Open the source file of one of Websites found in Top 10 search results (To open source file, go to View>Source in your browser). Next, note all the Keywords put in Page Title, find whether that Keyword is placed at the beginning and at the end of Page content, in what proportion the Keyword is spread throughout the entire Page, which header tag is used for Keyword, whether it is in bolded, italicized or underlined format on the Page. Find the number of inbound links to the Website by searching for “link: Website name” in Google (Note: Google has reduced some of its results) and find the names of that Websites, their Page Rank (PR) and anchor text used. Find <alt> tag (i.e. alternate text) used for images.

Off Page Factors:

These are factors which can not be seen on Page. Find whether the Website has used Keyword in its Domain or Sub Domain or Website is ranked by its sub page. As told above, you need to find no. of inbound links, anchor text, Page Rank (PR) of Website. These are called Off Page factors.

Repeat the above steps for each website and Copy and apply all these On Page and Off Page factors to your Website. Send email requests to high PR Websites to link to your Website. Do this professionally so that your request won’t get rejected. Put their Website link to your site before sending them request.

Extras:

Do not use Java script or flashes on your Website. Google does not like it. Submit articles to popular article directories on regular basis in order to increase link popularity. Never spam Google to increase ranking. Keep your Website design simple and attractive. Put site map on landing page so that Google can easily reach each page of your Website. Do not use Google submission form to submit your Website. Instead, use inbound links to get ranking in Google. Try each method to promote your Website and never lose hopes.
